Late Mr F.C. Kohli is widely acknowledged as the founding father of the Indian Software Industry. The former Deputy Chairman of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), he set up and nurtured TCS over three decades. TCS is the largest and one of the most well-known Software companies in India with a strong global presence.

Mr Kohli did his Electrical Engineering from Queen's University (Canada) and Masters from MIT (USA). He was awarded Honorary Doctorates by University of Waterloo (Canada), Robert Gordon University (UK) and University of Roorkee (India). The list of his Technical Publications, his Contributions to the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology sectors, and the Awards conferred upon him is endless.

The top level corporate positions in Tata Group Companies, as well as, multifarious offices held by him in Governing Bodies of various Institutions/ Government, Educational and Business & Professional Bodies is highly impressive. For many years he continued to be a Director on the Boards of over fifteen companies in India, Singapore, Switzerland and USA. These included -- Tata Infotech, Tata Honeywell, Tata Elxsi, Tata Electric Companies, Tata Technologies, Triveni Engineering, Technosoft (Switzerland), HOTV (USA), Sun F&C Asset Management, et al.



Late Lt Gen (Retd) D. Swaroop: Formerly Chief Controller Defence Research (DRDO), he held top positions in public and private sector organizations including Managing Director of Instrumentation Ltd (Kota), and Chairman of Hindustan Computers Ltd (now HCL Group).



Late Mr S. Ramaiah: Mr Ramaiah was formerly Law Secretary to the Government of India. Specifically, he was associated with the drafting of the Patent Bill and amendments to the Copyright Act. Till December 2000, Mr Ramaiah was the Chairman of the Copyright Board. Earlier, he had headed a bureau in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at Geneva.
