He has been researching in the area of e-procurement/ e-tendering, with focus on
public procurement, for over 20-years. He graduated as an Electrical Engineer from IIT Delhi in 1976.
Based on his pioneering work, his company, ElectronicTender has developed an innovative e-procurement/ e-auction software with comprehensive security and transparency features which can be licensed for ready-deployment in any country.
In public-interest, he shared important aspects of his ground-breaking research in public-domain through interaction with authorities in various countries and multi-lateral agencies, presentation of papers at international conferences, et al, so that the concerned authorities could take appropriate measures to check mal-practices under the garb of e-procurement.
A distinctive feature of his professional background is an amalgam of professional experience -- as Strategy Consultant to leading international corporations in building & strengthening their business operations in India, and to reputed Indian corporate organizations for improving their Strategy, Systems and Skills; and earlier as a Senior Management Executive in the Indian IT/ Software/ Telecom/ Engineering sectors with focus on General Management, Corporate Planning and Marketing functions.
His major assignments as a Strategy Consultant [through his Management Consulting company -- J. Kohli Consulting (P) Ltd] include those with Compaq Computer (S'Pore), Apple Computer (Hong Kong), Mathys (Switzerland), Shearman & Sterling (USA), BSES (India), e-Exchange Commerce (S'Pore/ UK), Indocean Chase-India (Chase Capital Partners, USA) among others.
He is the General Editor of "The Business Guide to India", a highly acclaimed handbook on foreign investment published in Singapore by Butterworth Heinemann (UK).

Suresh Rajpal worked with HP for 29 years in numerous senior positions in the US, Canada, Asia and Latin America. He started Hewlett Packard's India operations in 1989, and was President of the company till January 1999. Under his leadership, HP India achieved the highest award for business excellence in the country - the "CII EXIM Award for Business Excellence". He was Director of Marketing, Sales and Support for HP's Asia Pacific operations whilst located in Hong Kong prior to heading HP-India's operations.
He received the "US Ambassador's Award" for distinguished service for strengthening the relationship between the US and India as President of the American Business Council.
